Knowledgeable in caster. The Process Engineer is responsible for delivering regular recommendations on staffing, procedures and costs, while meeting all quality standards set forth by the company, customer and government regulations. This position will work side-by-side with the management staff to discover inefficiencies in business and production processes and then determine the best ways to bring business methods in line with the company's financial goals. Responsibilities: Analyze workflows within and across departments to determine how processes can be more efficient and effective. Review the KPI monitoring systems and determine ways to improve their ability to maintain company operations. Create an analytical process that justifies business decisions. Design, run, test and upgrading systems and processes. Analyze capital expenditures and project designs to help find ways to cut costs. Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output. Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related discipline preferred. Experience in leading initiatives in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and TPM. Minimum 5 years of experience in quality management and metallurgical product development and/or process engineering in a steelmaking (melting, refining, and or casting) environment working with ferrous alloys. Thorough knowledge of steelmaking metallurgy and slag/metal interactions. High aptitude for math and statistical analysis. Ability to set up and maintain daily SPC information and recommend improvements. Offer hands on support as needed. Ability to train operators in new steel making processes. Must be comfortable with integrating new technology into an existing business environment. Willingness to work any and all shifts as needed primarily a day shift position
